Welcome

Reflection of School Hall & School Tractor (9K)

Hello!

Welcome to the Babraham Church of England (VC) Primary School website.

Babraham is one of the smallest primary schools in Cambridgeshire and, we believe, one of the best: one of the joys of a small school is that every child is known and their talents and strengths, whether academic, social, sporting or artistic can be recognised and celebrated.  No one is ever overlooked.

Our school, only a few miles from Cambridge is set in beautiful countryside.  We welcome children to Babraham from a wide area that includes not only our immediate locality, but also extends to all parts of the world so we feel we are a global community and we all benefit from understanding different experiences.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and find the information that you require.  If you have any questions or comments, or would like to arrange a visit to our school, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Snow and Possible School Closures

The education support service is trying to find ways to support parents in discovering whether or not schools are open or not due to the snow.  They are dedicating this link to that purpose: www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/education/schools/schoolclosure/.  If the school is closed, it will say so.  If there is a blank next to the school name it will just mean that the authorities have not heard from us at that point.  We hope that this is helpful and that you will not have to use it.

International School Award (3K)
In September 2008 Babraham Primary School was awarded the International School Award in recognition of its outstanding work in bringing the wider world into the classroom though its range of international projects, including an International Week, Christmas Around the World, links with a school in France, and visiting teachers and trainees from Switzerland and Florida.  The International School Award (www.globalgateway.org) was started in 1999 to recognise the schools leading the way in installing a global dimension into the learning experience of all children and young people.  It is funded by the DCSF and managed by the British Council.

Healthy School Award (2K)
Babraham Primary School was also recently awarded The Healthy School's Award in acknowledgement of the school's very high quality provision for the welfare and well-being of its staff and pupils. It recognises the high quality of work in developing and promoting pupil's emotional, social and physical health.
